September 22- Garrett's Hero

Tomorrow Garrett turns 10. All he wanted as a present was to meet his hero, John R. Erickson, the author of the Hank the Cowdog books. Mr. Erickson lives about 5 hours from us, but he had a book signing in Amarillo the day before Garrett's birthday. Garrett was giddy with excitement and nervousness.    

We sat there for about an hour before it was our turn. Apparently he has quite a few Hank fans.

In the process of Mr. Erickson signing the boys' books he found out that Garrett's birthday was the next day and he insisted on a picture. Garrett was thrilled :). 

September 24- Girls' Ride

Garrett and Kacy's birthday are right next to each other. Garrett's the 23 and Kacy's the 24. For Kacy's birthday she and Janessa went on a horse ride together. Not far from our house are these Long Horn cows that the girls "discovered" on this ride.
