August 10-12 Family Camp

 We just got back from a family camp this past weekend…a very fun weekend I might add. The first day we signed in and then messed around with the other kids. The theme for the weekend was the Olympics, so we had an opening ceremony with the torch and all. There was 5 teams (country) red, blue, green, black, and yellow.  Before the opening ceremony all the “countries” made flags. We were on the blue team.

After the ceremony we went to eat supper. Afterward the adults played a dice game, the kids played board games, the little kids watched a movie, and the rest of us played truth or dare outside. The next morning some of the teens decided to go jogging. Zach and Shea went with them while Janessa and Kacy went hiking in the mountains. When they got back to the camp it was almost breakfast time. After a wonderful breakfast we started the games. The leader of each “country” had a clip board with a point sheet on it. As we did the games the leader counted points for how well we did. Here is pictures of all the teams:

After all the games were done we had lunch then the families went to do the camp activities.

And we did the zip line, the ropes course and last but certainly not least the big swing. I’m sorry we didn’t get any pictures. Then we had an hour to clean up, then supper, and a volley ball game:

After the game we all went to the mess hall to play board games and talk. The boys played a game called Axis and Allies till about 2a.m.

 Our cabin got up pretty early, breakfast was at 8:00 a.m. after breakfast they announced the winner of the day before. 3^rd was our team, 2^nd was green team, and 1^st the black team. After breakfast we packed up and went home.

Fixing a Leak

We had a leak in the boys bathroom and to figure out where the leak was we had to tunnel under the house a little ways. Zach was laying down in the tunnel digging and had the dirt fall down on him.

Zach and Kacy have just finished making a shield. Kacy make all the rope and straps and Zach designed and cut it out.

Also Shea is going to sleep in Zach's room for a time and we just finished putting up the new bunk bed that Dad made.

June 29

   The younger kids decided to play castle. Their costumes were very amusing. For instance Garrett is wearing a tinfoil crown, a gamblers vest, and a girls shawl. I think it turned out pretty good.

                                                                   June 28

 Jenna and Andie Carroll have now spent almost a week here. They are loving having big brothers and sisters. And of course we are all loving having a lot of little sisters. Today they are helping Kacy make cookies.

  They also enjoyed helping her clean the dishes :) They were very committed in licking the bowl

Garrett is getting bored of them doing girl stuff.

  

So he and Gabe decided to have a sword fight while they were waiting. That was very funny to watch, that is until Gabe got hurt. 

                                        June 26 

                              We started doing the Bible bee this year. We are all really enjoying it. 

  Zach has really jumped into the memorization

        The boys looked up how to make a Lego car launcher. That's what they were doing while they were waiting for the rest of us to start

                                             June 24

For the last 6 months or so we have been planning to Home-school another family. We have been so excited to start. Today is the day before they are to come Zach and Kacy went down to the fix a saddle for the horses, so the girls could ride tomorrow. While they were down there Kacy ended up jumping off of a hay bale and sprained her ankle really bad. Today is also Daniel and Rossella's 18 wedding anniversary. They went on a date all day in Daniel's truck.
