February 14 - Quincy's Valentines Gift

We have been expecting puppies out of Quincy every day for a month. Today she finally had them, 8 beautiful, healthy puppies. When we got home from GRACE, she had already had them. We are selling them. They are English Shepherd pups. I am currently setting up our website to sell them, but it is taking more time than I anticipated, sorry, but it will be up as soon as possible. We need to get them sold, however, so if you are interested in buying a great dog please email me at poguefamilyblog@gmail.com. I will put the website up on this blog as soon as I get it set up. They will be ready to leave their mother in about 6 weeks.

Quincy is a great mother, and has lost none of her care-free sweetness.

February 13 - Valentines Gifts/Science Experiment

This evening the boys and Kacy decided to try to make silly putty. It is so fun to make because the reaction happens so fast. Here are the directions we used.
4 oz of glue mixed in 4 oz of water. We added some food coloring for some other color. If there was no coloring it would be white

2 tablespoons of Borax dissolved in 1 cup of warn water is added to the mixture of glue and water.

The reaction happens within seconds.

The finished material

Don't be fooled by Shea's face, they have not stopped playing with it yet.

We used several types of glue to make this, and we found that the ordinary Elmer's school glue works best. We used glitter glue, clear glue, non-washable, and washable glue. The washable worked the best and the non-washable was good too.
The glitter glue ended up as bouncy balls.

Garrett got the job of rolling the balls until they were hard.

February 3 - For West Texas, we had a Blizzard

We got about an inch of snow last night, so today the boys used up all the snow on our 4 1/2 acres and made a snowman. It turned out to be a very good snowman. They loaded as much snow as possible into a barrel, packed it down and dumped it out. For, you see, we don't get very much wet snow around here. So you have to melt it a little bit to make it workable.

Doesn't he look fantastic? So what are some things you like to do when snow comes?

February 9 - Baby Shower

Our very good friends are having their third child, a boy, some time in February of March. Janessa and Kacy went to a baby shower hosted in their honor.
His doting Aunt made him this beautiful Baby quilt.
His Uncle made this for the nursery.

His Grandma gave him this adorable stuffed dog.
The younger girls went outside a played while the ladies spent time inside catching up with each other.

Jenna was doing a bit of stretching.

Big sis is enjoying being the baby for a little longer.

February 1 - Birthday Party for Josie

Our dear, sweet, little friend, Josilina turned five. We have the honor to be invited to her party. Josilina's Mom and Grandmother made her a Pinata shaped as a butterfly. Which was a great attraction. It was extremely fun watching the younger kids try to hit it while Josilina's Dad and Grandpa "ran" it. I think the younger kids had a bit of fun as well.
The guest of honor gets to go first.

Then her little sister...

...though, I think that the bat scared her.

Then Gabe.....the fun started at that point.

Garrett gave it a shot with little more progress than Gabe.

After the pinata, Josilina opened presents from loving family and friends. Mostly girl stuff, which the boys thought were very, umm, interesting.

Some one bought bubbles for both Josilina and her younger sister, Camilla.

Little sister Casandra likes the light-up ball.
