July 2 - Farm Life with Boys

This morning Gabe decided that he wanted to be someone new. Several years ago we went to a Civil War Gala, so everyone had costumes for that time period. That, however was before we all grew out of them. But now Gabe has all sorts of costumes (as you might have noticed). Today he is General Grant...with his cow.

Nice picture Jinny.

Here are some pictures of some chicks that we had bought a while back. They are almost ready to go out with the big chickens.

Shea found another Horny toad while out doing chores.

His hat is one he created himself. It has a rear view mirror.

It looked like we were going to get a thunderstorm, but all we got was these beautiful clouds. Someone got wet somewhere.

June Creations

This month has been really busy...if you couldn't tell. I'm sure there was more creations for this month, but I don't have any pictures.
The boys' balloon stand. Which one is your favorite?

The hammer and bell for a carnival. It really works too...and it is almost as hard to get that little hammer to swing hard enough to hit the bell on the top.

Coconuts came on sale at the store, so we got one to try. It is hard to get into!!!!! We tried had a drill, and knife, and a saw,by the time this picture was taken. We thought this was pretty funny. I promise this was not  planned.
Even though these are not from the Pogue family, they were on our porch after the homeopathic weekend

Gabriel made a scientific post in the antarctic this month. The directors of 8 Below would have been proud.

The overhead picture of it.

The snowmobile garage.

The science lab.

Rare rock samples.

Weather tower.

And of course snowmobiles.

June 28 - Animal Training

Tonight was too beautiful an evening to be indoors so the whole family was outside. Every since we got Libby bred we decided to not jump her, but now that she had Banner and he is three months old (day before yesterday) she is able and ready to do some jumping. We found out that she liked to jump when we were over at a friend's house. We were playing horse tag. That is where everyone runs and the person that is it has a horse. It is actually harder than you think, unless you have a cutting horse. Anyway, Zach was it, there was lots of thorn bushes around their house. Zach was chasing someone and Libby cleared a three foot high thorn bush without even trying. Let me tell you, Zach as surprised. She is really good at it and she doesn't like small jumps. They have to be at least two feet high for her not to get bored. It is a lot of fun....when you know how.

Banner is learning how to jump as well. He took most of the jumps with his mamma.

While Shea was jumping, Banner got really annoying. He has the bad habit of running circles around Libby, which makes it hard for her to jump. So Kacy tied him to Aleric to let them get used to one another. Plus Aleric just got done teaching Jinny how to lead, so he wasn't about to let Banner run away with him. He also was more interested in the cats than wherever Banner wanted to go.

Guess where the cats are.

Neither one of them want to go where the other wants to go.

Very cuddly baby, when mamma isn't around.

I love this picture!!!!

July 25 - Turkey Capers and 20 Years

This morning, while doing the chores, I noticed that the baby turkeys and our Tom were acting weird. The Tom ( Sargent York) was separating the group of five babies, he was all puffed up, and his comb was blood red. I started thinking that he was separating the hens from the toms, but up until now we couldn't figure out who were the toms and who were the hens.

Here you can see that he is separating the chicks.

Then all of a sudden all the babies started to groom themselves. That probably doesn't sound very strange, but when they all start at the same time it is.

Then three of the babies started to do this crazy pose. This is when I quit worrying, all this meant was we have three baby toms and two hens. They were so cute doing all this strutting along with Sargent York.

Yesterday Daddy and Mamma celebrated 20 years together!!! As a gift Daddy's boss gave them a ticket to the Parade of homes in Lubbock. This is a showing of all sorts of fancy homes. Enjoy these pictures that Mamma took.

Happy Anniversary to two wonderful Parents!!! Thank you so much for all your sacrifice and love for one another!! Thank you for your good example to your children and everyone you are around!!!
We love you so much!

June 21 - Homeopathic Class Part 2

This morning the younger girls were all up and about really early, and wanting to go do the chores. All these little ladies just got back from a horse camp, so they all had matching t-shirts. They all looked so cute in their cowboy boots, jeans, and t-shirts. They were a huge help with chores and loved playing with all the animals.

Molly and Jenna Playing Cowgirl. We let Rusty graze all night then bring him to water in the morning. He then gets to free range about while we are doing chores. That way we have a ride if we need anything at the house.

Aubrey learning how to feed Rusty out of her hand.

Andi playing fetch with Reacher.

The little turkeys were very intriguing to the girls. Everyone wanted to hold one.

The girls wanted to see if Rusty could eat out of a coffee can...he can't, if anyone's interested.

Walking up everyone had something, Molly and Jenna got Rusty, Sadie had the compost bucket and the puppy (named dip stick by Jenna), Aubrey had the calf to stake her out, and Andi had another compost bucket.
Later, while the Homeopathic class was happening all the younger ones played in the puddle.

I think they got stuck and just left the boots.
Meanwhile in the house, mom did an excellent job teaching all the ladies.

While the mamma's and Janessa were making lunch, Kacy and Lexi went out to let the younger kids ride. Lexi took it upon herself to keep Banner out of the way, a full time job by itself. We ran out of horses to ride before we ran out of riders, so we went over and got Pepper.

Zane thought that all the other horses were too big for him, but when he saw Pepper, Zane decided that Pepper was just the right size. (Even though Pepper is the biggest horse I have ever ridden)

Zane is infatuated with the baby "tickens"

One of the finds of the day was this little one.

Jenna looks so tiny on Pepper, but she rode him like a pro. Oh... and she learned to jump a horse this weekend. It took a lot of fast talking to stop her from jumping Pepper. She did excellent on Libby though.
