December 10 - B.R.I.G.H.T. Lights Graduation/Coronation Ceremonies

Every time we have girls in our Bright Lights group who have finished Set 1 of the material, we have a graduation for them to graduate as an official Bright Light. They receive a diploma signed by their teacher, Janessa Pogue, and Sarah Mally, the founder of Bright Lights. Their whole families attend and we have a nice potluck dinner and some kind of short family entertainment. The girls also perform a song they've been learning, read testimonies they've written and recite verses they've memorized.
But the focus of that special night is on the coronation ceremony, where each daughter is crowned as Princess of the King by her earthly father. She kneels on a red carpet, her father reads her a speech that he's written specifically to her telling her how special she is and what she means to him. She receives a real tiara and a pure white rose, symbolizing her purity as a Princess.
To decorate the tables, we wrote our memorization verses in our material on the plastic tablecloths and sprinkled glitter and Andes mints all over.
"For God resisteth the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 1 Pet. 5:5
"But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand." Is. 64:8
"But let it be the hidden man of the heart; in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." 1 Pet. 3:4
"Let no man despise they youth, but be thou an example of believers: in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity." 1 Tim. 4:12
"Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of LORD all the day long." Prov. 23:17
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Col. 3:1-2
"And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God and toward men." Acts. 24:16
"It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt. 4:4
Tiaras, scepter, and red carpet in preparation for the coronation.
With a pillow to kneel on:)
The food bar before the feast is laid out. The rose picture is one that Kacy Pogue colored during the very first meeting of Bright Lights.
The guests are arriving...
....and they keep coming!
To start the evening the Bright Lights girls sang some of the songs that they've been practicing
 for their families.
Back from left to right: Elizabeth, Anabeth, Zion, Elena, and Macy.
Front left to right: Makayla, Samantha, Kaitlyn, and Molly.
The large group of families enjoy listening to their daughters/sisters/granddaughters!
The leader, Janessa Pogue, explains how the evenings activites will be conducted.
The graduation begins...
Elizabeth receives a diploma...
...and a hug:)
Anabeth's turn. The teacher quoted to each of the girls "I live for the Audience of One: Before others I have nothing to prove, nothing to gain, and nothing to lose" by Os Guinness. It is an inspiring quote that the group had talked about in several of their meetings previously.
Andrea was not officially in this Bright Lights group in Lubbock, Tx, but she finished Set 1 through the Bright Lights group in Brownfield, Tx, and was graduated this night so she could be with everyone else.
And she receives a hug too!
Molly is excited to be part of the "big girls group" and finish her Set 1 with her mommy!

Sweet and shy Makayla receives her diploma....
..and hug:)
Outgoing and vibrant Macy receives her diploma...
...and gives a very enthusiastic hug!
And last, but certainly not least, Zion receives her diploma. We didn't get a picture of the hug:(
Elizabeth reads a testimony...
...Anabeth recites a verse...
...Elena reads a testimony...
...Kaitlyn recites a verse...
...Makayla reads a verse...
...Zion recites a verse...
...Macy reads a testimony...
...Samantha reads a verse...
...and Kacy gives a testimony! Way to go girls!
Janessa reads her testimony of how she started a Bright Lights group.
When it came time for the coronation ceremony (which is the highlight of the evening), everybody was so emotional and wrapped up in the momentous event of these precious girls being crowned as Princesses of the King by their Daddies, that the teacher forgot to take pictures!:( So, you'll just have to take my word for it, that is was wonderful and no one that was there will ever forget it!!!
The brothers look on and are in full support of their sisters:)
What a large group of people! We sure had a full house that night!
The older girls who have already been graduated and coronated in a previous ceremony were recognized and given gifts.
And to end the evening....Mr. Paul Dowell gave a spectacular performance of Jesus on the Sermon of the Mount. It was thoroughly enjoyed, and applauded and all the kids were very interactive with him!
All in all, it was a very successful evening and very blessed by the Almighty God! Thank you, everyone who was involved, for your participation in this ministry and for being such godly people to teach your daughters the straight and narrow way of our Savior!

Goodbye and talk to you next time!:)
