March 3 - Colt in the Morning Cookies by Garrett in the Afternoon and Sailing in the Evening

Today we staked Libby out for the first time since Banner was born. He ran around and explored all day. We had so much fun watching him do all his little baby capers, I don't think that we got any school done this morning. He is such a huge blessing to our family. He's not a very shy baby, when he gets into his head that he wants to do something, he does it and he doesn't hesitate to do it at all. Libby is a great mother and is very protective of him. He has inherited her spirited personality and his Sire's confidence in himself. I think he inherited the best of both halves.

He's not sure what to think of the grass taste.

Garrett wanted to make a special treat for our science class tomorrow, so he made chocolate octopuses (octopie maybe is how you say it). They were delicious Garrett!

Later that afternoon the wind picked up, like it does only in west Texas. Zach, Kacy, Shea, Garrett, and Janessa decided to make the most out of it. Now we own kites, but that doesn't work in Texas because, as you may of heard, everything is bigger in Texas. After many tries we finally figured out how to set up a roofing tarp and some broom handles to make a sail. Now we never actually left the ground, but the wind was hard enough to whip us around a lot. There had to be two people holding onto the tarp to make it work best. So the wind was throwing close to 200 pounds (depending on who was holding on) around almost constantly.

Duct Tape and bailing twine to hold the broom handles on the tarp.

All it takes in a little ingenuity and some imagination to make a boring, horrible day into a fun, exciting adventure. Any ideas for the next boring day?
