July 16 - Pogue Camp

Lexi and Jenna are at camp this week, and, because Andi is still too young, her parents and ours surprised her with a trip to Pogue camp for a day. Mamma and Daddy brought her home really late and put her in Kacy's room....without her knowing. Andi had so much fun surprising all of us this morning. After we all were up and dressed the whole crew headed outside to do chores. We had acquired a couple of new animals (horny toads) since we had seen Andi last and the babies had grown some, so she and the boys spent some time playing with them.
Andi, like everyone that comes in contact with Hunter, has received a bad case of cuddle-bug.
Shea and Garrett are showing Andi their excellent lizard habitat.
When you were a kid and you came to a bridge, did you ever just get the urge to play Three Billy Goats Gruff? We all did, and today was no exception. Shea and Kacy laid a railroad tie across a couple of round bales and the younger ones had a grand old time. They played the game several times so that everyone had a chance to play the coveted role...the troll.

Shea the troll...or more like the Hunchback of Notre Dam.

The cast and crew of the Three Billy Goats Gruff.

The turkeys were getting into the game as well.

Andi as troll.

Big Billy Goat Gruff.
Middle Billy Goat Gruff.

Little Billy Goat Gruff.

Gabriel as troll.

Garrett the Troll...Which one do you think made the best troll?

Gabe was little billy goat gruff and he told the troll (garrett) to wait for his older sister who was bigger and fatter than him. Now we all know it was a game...so did Andi, but she told the troll to let her pass so that she could get her little brother. The troll let her pass with out any trouble. She chased Gabe all over the pasture.

Big billy goat gruff is knocking the troll off the bridge...I think he is having way to much fun.
Gabe and Andi took a nap in Kacy's room after lunch. For a while they were content with doing a cross word puzzle, but somehow or another they had the idea to tie one another up and see how fast it took them to get untied without help. If you think that isn't an entertaining game you have to try it sometime.

Andi is having way too much fun with this.

The knot for his hands...

...and the knot for his feet.

It took him 18 minutes 4 seconds to free himself.
Here is Andi's knots.
It took her 9 minutes 14 seconds.
After they were done Garrett and Shea got into it.
Garrett freed himself in 1 minute and 47 Seconds.

Everyone wanted Kacy to tie Shea up, everyone that is except Shea.

It took him about 25 minutes to free himself.

That evening, after it had cooled down some Andi, Shea, and Kacy took a ride to a water tank that is one of our favorite spots to ride to.

The big, blue Texas sky was really showing off her colors.

When we arrived at the tank half an hour later it was pretty full so we took off out shoes and sock and soaked our feet in the water for a while.

Andi said good-bye to everyone and went home. It was such a wonderful day.
