December 30 - Day #5 of the Bible Story Seminar

Because we had been going hard at studying for four days, we all decided to make today a half day of study. Our family (The Pogues) were staying in the basement of the church, and our cousins were staying at Grandpa and Grandmother's house. Early this morning the four older cousins came over to the church so that we all could go on a walk. Right across the street from the church is a irrigation canal that has been a childhood haunt for all of the cousins. We were planning on going along it, but when we got there we decided to play capture the flag, using the canal as out boundary.
Right off we found a concrete pipe going all the way under the canal. So we thought it would be fun to crawl through it. what we didn't realize is, by running across the canal you will cross it in seconds and you don't comprehend how big is truly is. But when you crawl underneath it, in a cold pipe, with no room to lift you head, several people behind you, people on the other end of the pipe ready to throw snowballs at you, and no proper snow gear, it's not quite so easy to get through. But, regardless of all that we had a lot of fun taking turns making it hard on the others. The feet you see in the picture above is someone ....ahem... in the pipe trying to block it up from the people coming toward them.

Well after we were done with the pipe we divided into teams and started to play. This is Cousin Boone and Zach guarding each side of their property.

That person in the canal is what they are guarding the flag against.

When we started to head home, we all went back through the pipe.

Shea got some really good shots of the Mesa Verde mountains.

Well it's back to studying again, but with much renewed energy from all the fresh air. We are getting into the new testament today.

After studying was all over for the day, Darby asked us if we could teach her older brothers how to swing dance. Unfortunately we only taught them a few moves. It was not for lack of their learning skills, but our teaching skills. They did really good in spite of us. :)

And then, of course, jeopardy.

Team #1 Alden, Zachary, and Conner.

Team #2 Darby, Janessa, and Shea

And team #3 Garrett, Boone, and Kacy
